2012 Wroclaw, Poland
24th November - 2nd December 2012
Aumi still in the lead and we see our first 300
Aumi Guerra of the Dominican Republic is still in the lead at the half way stage of the 48th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Wroclaw, Poland, 26 pins ahead of England’s Kirsten Penny. Aumi shot 1143 today over the five games with Kirsten coming in with 1172.
But it was Shayna Ng of Singapore who had the high set of the day – 1215 - to rise up to third place. Her 1215 included two games of 269.
We also saw our first perfect game of this tournament – bowled by the young student of psychology and education from the USA, Danielle McEwan. Her coach, Rod Ross said: “Every ball was pretty near perfect, although I must admit the 10th had me a bit worried.” Danielle herself was delighted: “It’s actually my first ever sanctioned 300! I’ve had perfect games in open play and unsanctioned tournaments and it’s just great to get one in an event like this.”
Danielle will pick up the trophy for high game and a certificate to mark her achievement.
At present Blanka Hanusikova of the Czech Republic and Nasheeha King of Mauritius are tying on 1973 (197.3 average) for 24th spot and a place in the next round. However, there are still ten games to go before the cut.
