Mykhaylo Kalika heads the men - 2012 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, Wroclaw, Poland.
Third place last year in Johannesburg must have inspired Mykhaylo Kalika of the Ukraine. He has started his games in the 48th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in great style, averaging 229.8 for his first five games.
His coach, Ron Hatfield, commented: “Mykhaylo has the talent to be a top player, but it still needs practice and work to make it to the top and he has worked really hard on his game over the past couple of years.”
Lying in second place is Mrkonjic Mise of Croatia with Kent Marshall of the USA in third.
High game for the men, so far, is 283 from Magnus Magnusson of Iceland.
After a further 15 games, the field will cut to the top 24. At present that is 1042, a 208.4 average, with Jarmo Ahokas of Finland in 24th, just one pin ahead of Mathieu Berges of Switzerland.
The Oman is represented in the event for the first time and their player, Ghalib Albusaidi, is lying in 5th place on 1122, a 224.4 average.
The overall average for all the men is 198.21.
