Only by finishing in the top three will any player have a chance of winning the trophy, since the final consists of a step ladder for the top three.
After finishing play for the day, Jason commented: 'I'll just be going out to bowl my best tomorrow and if that means that I win the game then fine. I'd rather lose with a 220 than try to beat the other guy and land up with a 180.'
Thomas Gross of Austria said: 'I am really pleased to have made the top eight. I'm looking to make up the pins to qualify for the grand finals but I can also get the best ever result for an Austrian and beat the record of Ernst Berndt who came 6th in 1977.'
The round of eight will start at 9 am tomorrow (Friday 9th November) with the grand finals taking place on Saturday 10th on live TV.
