Asia dominant in Toulon

Asian bowlers now take the first four spots in the women’s section of the 46th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup
Min-Young Gye of Korea is now in the lead on 2474 (a 224.9 average) ahead of yesterday’s leader, Wendy Chai of Malysia, with Singapore’s Daphne Tan in 3rd and Marianne Daisy Posadas of the Philippines in 4th.
Aumi Guerra of the Domincan Republic and Fiona Banks of England each shot a 278 game which at the moment is the high game of the tournament for the women.
After the hitches yesterday the tournament organising committee decided that all players should bowl 16 games instead of the scheduled 20. Today both squads of the women bowled six games with the second squad of men going on this evening to bowl five games. Tomorrow, the men will all bowl six games and the women five.
After that, the top 24 will play a further eight games.
At the moment the cut for the women is 2128, an average of 193.4 with Julieanne Mollet of New Zealand just in, ahead of Felicia Wong of Canada by eight pins.
