USA heads Norway after second round of qualifying
USA’s John Szczerbinski into the lead after ten games of qualifying play
Mads Sandbaekken of Norway took an early lead but the USA’s John Szczerbinski overtook him to go into the lead after ten games of qualifying play in the 46th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Toulon, France.
John is on 2335, a 233.5 average, 75 pins ahead of Mads. In 3rd place is Matt Miller of England on 2239.
John commented afterwards: “I got a couple of lucky breaks early on and just rode my luck. I feel I bowled well today and just hope I can keep it going.”
The men will play a further six games on 21st October, before the cut is made for the top 24. At present the cut is on 2060, a 206 average, with Mark Spiteri of Malta in the 24, five pins ahead of Dennis Eklund of Sweden.
High game of the tournament, so far, for the men is 290 and is shared by Mads and Matt.
