Men's Semi Finals - 2025 IBF World Cup

The men were first up for the semi finals and our first match saw Singapore's Jaris Goh up against China's Jian Chao Du. China's took an early lead in game 1 with a spare and Turkey as Goh could only spare in the first four frames. Goh was striking in the fifth but so was Du and stretching the lead. Despite an open from Du in frame seven, he went on to go one up at the end with a 233-180.

Game 2 and both opening with doubles. Goh taking a slight lead before a split open and advantage to Du. A thirteen pin lead for China going into the latter stages of the game then a double from Du and open from Goh and this one was all but sealed. 200-179 and 2-0.

Next up was the USA's Packy Hanrahan vs Malaysia's Rafiq Ismail and this one could go either way. All strikes to start with as both opened well over the first three frames. The American then hit the front five as the Malaysian hit four and a spare. Ismail was back on strike in the sixth but so has Hanrahan now hitting a sixpack. All tied though as the American then left a seven pin and the match was all level as Ismail hit a double and both on a 279 pace. An eight count from the Malaysian in the ninth and spare from the American and a two pin lead. A strike for Rafiq and seven count for Packy and the Malaysian was one up, 257-235.

Game two and close for the first four frames but the American struggling to strike and the Malaysian finding it easy and hitting a four bagger and closing in on the 2-0 win. Rafiq Ismail through at the end 253-191.
