Women's Semi Finals - 2025 IBF World Cup

An all European semi final had Germany up against Sweden and two amazing female athletes, one with years of experience and the other being one of the hottest young bowling talents in the World today. An open in frame two put the Swede on the back foot early on as the German spared and struck. The nightmare start for Nora continued with a missed single pin in frame three and split in frame four as Birgit was clean through four frames and a lead building. Then it was the German's time to split and Nora was back on strike and fighting to recover and showing experience to double after the shaky start. Birgit also struggling to string any strikes and in danger of being caught quickly. Birgit with a fourteen pin lead by frame seven. Both could only strike or spare there way to the end with Birgit taking the first game 197-170.

Game 2 and both opening with strike spare then Birgit taking a slight lead with a strike to Nora's spare. An open for the German in the fifth frame let Nora back in and just three pins behind as both spared in the sixth. The Swede sadly was struggling still to shape up and only hitting spares as the German edged away. An open in the eight for Nora and this one was slipping away. Birgit Noreiks advancing to the final 195-161.

An all Asian semi final saw Malaysia's Natasha Roslin vs Singapore's Daphne Tan. A fantastic start for the Malaysian as she raced into the lead with a strike, spare and five in a row as the Singaporean spared till the fourth then hit a double and spare and trailing by 36 pins going into the ninth frame. Natasha Roslin on up at the end 244-198.

Onto the second game and Daphne Tan opening with a strike to the Malaysian's spare and hopes of levelling the match but a split in frame two and open frame. Natasha then also splitting and opening in frame two and one pin lead to the Singaporean. A Turkey for Daphne Tan gave her some room in the match as the Malaysian could only strike and spare twice by the end of the fifth frame. Daphne then unable to strike and two frames and Natasha was back striking and hitting a double to level the score and turkey to go in front. Daphne back with a strike but then a spare and Natasha hitting a fourbagger was making it look like it was going the Malaysian's way but an eight count in the tenth for the Malaysian and 213 as Daphne doubled to win by three pins with 216 and level the match 1-1.

The deciding game was as close as the ones before and nothing to separate in the early frames and both on 40 pin after three. A split open for Daphne in the fourth frame and strike for Natasha gave the Malaysian a big opening but a split soon slowed the advantage down quickly. Another split for Daphne Tan opened the door right back up again. Natasha now with a fifteen pin lead going into the sixth. Yet another split for the Singaporean in the seventh and strike for the Malaysian then both hitting nine spare in the eighth and the lead extending. Neither managing a double in the game so far and spare for Natasha and Strike for Daphne in the ninth. Needing three strikes to force Natasha to mark, Daphne hit the a turkey for 181 but the Malaysian struck and spared for 187 and through to the final 2-1.
