We held the first ever "Battle on the Lanes" at this year's Bowling World Cup. This was a fun team event, that separated selected players into four regions from around the globe where they could battle it out on the bowling lanes. Besides bragging rights, $500 for charity was on the line for the winning squads!
Following up another great year at the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, we take the time to recognize all of our major winners from the tournament. We share the winners of the top men and women bowlers, the high game awards and the prize for top country.

The last act of the 52nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup was to honor the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the tournament. Selected among their own competitors, Lauriane Celie of France and Mohammad al-Masri of Jordan were recognized.

And now it is time for the grand finale. The final four for for each division of #52BWC has determined and we are ready to see who will become our World Champions!
We share the top 8 of the tournament as we finish day 5 of the 52nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. The real focus was on the last spot of the final 8, with Chris Sloan of Ireland making a 22nd to 5th place leap. Perhaps the greatest move upward in the history of the World Cup.
After 20 grueling games, we finally reach the cut for the top 24 of the 52nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Local favorite Wang Hongbo is still in the lead on 4247. Bernice Lim of Singapore still holds the lead with 4470, but Danielle McEwan of USA is close behind in second with 4345
After 3 days, Bernice Lim of Singapore is in the lead with 3349, and a 223 average. For the men, local China representative, Wang Hongbo, leads the way with 3220.
Beyond their shared passion for the sport of bowling, the hobbies and careers of bowlers are as diverse as their ages and home cities from which they travel in pursuit of the coveted title of Bowling World Cup Champion.

After a long day of practice, we are ready to start the first round of the 52nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup.
Following the first two blocks of the Men’s Round 1, Yan Korshak of Russia leads the way in the men’s section of the 52nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Shanghai.
Danielle McEwan of the USA is in the lead in the women’s section of the 52nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Shanghai after the first block of five games. Danielle has played in the event twice before, coming 4th both times.
Saturday marked the official start of the 52nd QubicaAMF World Cup. With the banging of the ceremonial drum and parade of 83 competing countries the tournament is under way!
We dive in to get a first-hand interview with our participants from the Bahamas, and understand what they and their country had to go through before arriving at the 52nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup.
"Everyone should try bowling at least once in their life because it is not as easy as it seems! A lot of my friends have the misconception that it is so simple to roll a ball down the lane and hit some pins but when they actually do it, they finally understand the physical and mental challenge behind the game. And also because it is a fun activity to do with a group of friends ."
How did I get started in Bowling?. By accident, I took my car for an MOT and walked into a bowling centre next door for a coffee . One of the managers I had worked for before suggested there was a job that I would enjoy (GX Super Bowl Stevenage ) and it's been onwards and upwards ever since.
“In World Cup 50 in Poland I felt like a very awesome person on the final night in the tournament. When I got my reward for sportsman of the year I was fooled at that moment while I was taking photos on the stage near by to the champ Chris Barnes and Clara Guerrero and suddenly I heard my name.”
Preparations for the World cup are underway, most of the time I spend it in bowling alley, one of the most important things will also be my physical condition so I'm working hard on that as well. I will try to play few tournaments up until the World cup just to stay competitive and sharp.
The 2016 QubicaAMF Copa Mexico, Mexican Qualifying tournament finished with outstanding participation. A record number of bowlers participating in the tournament making it the highest in the last 10 years!
“I loved bowling from the very first game. I started in September 2001. Bowling has become my Lifestyle . I did not see my daughter for many years, Bowling helped me to survived all the time without her , bowling gave me purpose for existence.”
Two players could make it three Bowling World Cup wins. One of course is defending champion Clara Guerrero, the other is the amazing Aumi Guerra from the Dominican Republic.
Lisanne Breeschoten is super fit. She runs over 30 Kilometers a week and before Shanghai, she will run in her first half marathon. On the lanes, she is deadly.
“To be a bowler you have to work really hard when it comes to your technical game and make sure that you feel confident in your physical ability before you step onto the lanes.”
One player to watch this year is going to be Ireland’s Chris Sloan. A young pro shop operator now living in Sweden and an amazingly talented two hander. He is much travelled in all the World zones, gaining experience year on year and will be a contender in Shanghai.
