23 years ago Luis Iserte Javier arrived 7th in Hermosillo, now he is the first to arrive when it comes to Bowling in Mexico

1) Hermosillo I am sure, holds a special place in your heart Luis as it is where you finished 7th in the 1994 Bowling World Cup. What do you remember of that experience?

1. Estoy seguro de que guardas un muy bonito recuerdo de Hermosillo ya que fue ahí donde quedaste en séptimo lugar en la copa mundial de 1994. ¿Qué recuerdas de aquella experiencia?

Si , Los Aplausos y el cariño de la gente, Hermosillo siempre será uno de los lugares de mas importantes en mi vida, la gente me ha hecho sentir siempre en casa,  no tengo como agradecer cuantas muestras de Amistad me dieron y me siguen dando, aun después de tantos años, Quizás una de las cosas más importantes que tengo en la memoria es el sentir que todos los atletas éramos reconocidos en cualquier lado , hubo una gran cobertura de medios y la transmisión se realizó de calidad mundial eso dio gran difusión a nuestro deporte.

Yes, the applauses and the love of the people, Hermosillo will always be one of the most important places in my life, people has always made me feel at home, have no way to thank so many friendship proofs that even today after so many years they are still giving me. Perhaps one of the most memorable things was to feel the recognition that we all athletes had, everywhere we went people will recognize us, there was a great media coverage, the broadcast was world class which in turn gave great coverage to our sport.

2) You were a very good bowler, where and when did you start bowling?

2. Fuiste un muy buen jugador de bowling. ¿Dónde y cuándo empezaste a jugar?

Desde muy pequeño en la Ciudad de México, tenía 8 años y desde entonces tuve la gran fortuna de ir a dos eventos de PBA y jugar el PRO-AM, eso me hizo engancharme en el juego y desear ser como esos jugadores.

3) In your bowling career on the lanes what would you say were your greatest achievements?

3. ¿Cuáles han sido tus más grandes logros en el mundo del bowling?

Hubo grandes momentos, sin duda uno de los más importantes fue el Mundial en 1994 en Hermosillo y quedar en 7º lugar, otro fue quedar en ver lugar en los Juegos Panamericanos de la Habana en Cuba y estar en presencia de Fidel Castro.

There were several great moments, certainly one of the most important ones was the Bowling World Cup in Hermosillo where I  got 7th place, another one was at the Pan-American Games  in La Habana Cuba,  where I got 3rd place with Mr Fidel Castro on the audience.

4) How did you come to work for QubicaAMF? Was it because of your international bowling experience or had you worked in the industry already?

4. ¿Cómo empezaste a trabajar para QubicaAMF? ¿Se debió a tu experiencia internacional en el campo del bowling o ya habias trabajado en la industria antes?

Siempre he tenido la fortuna de tener gente que me ha apoyado, después del mundial en 1994, un gerente de un boliche de AMF me invito a trabajar como gerente de un centro, desde ahí me gustó mucho estar de este lado del mostrador y hacer una carrera, yo creo que mi experiencia en el juego me dio algunas ventajas pero definitivamente trabajar en la industria del boliche requiere de mucha dedicación, aprendizaje continuo y mucho cariño a lo que haces.

I had always been very fortunate to have people that supports me, after the 1994 Bowling World Cup, a manager at one of the AMF Bowling centers offered me to be a General Manager at one of the centers, since then I like it very much to be on the other side of the counter and make a career, I think that my experience on the game may have given me some advantages however to work in the Bowling industry requires dedication, continuous learning and deep love for what you do.

5) Currently you are the QubicaAMF Manager in Mexico, what does that position entail?

5. Actualmente eres el gerente de QubicaAMF en México. ¿Qué responsabilidades implica dicha posición?

QubicaAMF tiene oficinas de venta directas de fábrica en varios países alrededor del mundo, yo tengo el honor de dirigir la oficina en México , pero desde aquí también manejamos las ventas de Latinoamérica y el Caribe, básicamente mi función es manejo de los recursos de la empresa, la coordinación de los empleados y encargándome del crecimiento de la marca, mejorando su posición de liderazgo a nivel local y mundial.

QubicaAMF has affiliate offices in different countries around the world, I am honored to manage the Mexican office, from where we also sell in Latinamerica and Caribbean, basically some of my main functions are, to manage the assets of the company, manage employees and keep the grow of the brand, improving the leadership that we have In the region and around the world.

6) With BES X, Highway66, CenterPunch, Harmony,TMS, XLi Edge and more in the current range, do you have a favourite product?

6. Con tantas marcas actualmente en el mercado, como BES X, Highway66, CenterPunch, Harmony,TMS, XLi Edge y muchas más, tienes algún product favorito?

Todos los productos que tiene nuestra fabrica son extraordinarios, tenemos muchas ventajas competitivas y un verdadero liderazgo a nivel mundial, los clientes que utilizan nuestros productos valoran la calidad y la funcionalidad de los mismos, aunque a decir verdad BES X lleva una gran delantera por las cualidades que tiene, permite a los visitantes de los centros realmente entretenerse y generar mayores utilidades para sus propietarios.

All the products that our company has are extraordinary, we have several competitive advantages and a true leadership worldwide, customers that use our products certify de quality and functionality of them, but quite frankly BES X is leading the field due to the characteristics that allows center visitors to truly entertain and generate bigger profits to proprietors.

7) Can you tell us about the current installation in Hermosillo?

7. ¿Podrías hablarnos un poco sobre las instalaciones en Hermosillo?

Bol 300, es un centro único en México, es el único diseño tipo estadio que permite a los visitantes y a los jugadores estar cómodos y disfrutar del juego, una vez terminada la instalación de BES X, estamos seguros que sus clientes van a valorar mucho la funciones tan novedosas que tiene y sus dueños estarán muy satisfechos con su rendimiento.

Bol 300 is one of it´s kind, it has a stadium like constructions that allows visitors and bowlers to feel very comfortable and enjoy the games, once we finish the scoring modernization with BES X, we are sure that our customer and he´s clients will be very pleased due to the new features.

8) This will be a record sixth time the Bowling World Cup has visited Mexico and third for Hermosillo. After so many years, how popular is the sport still in your country?

8. La copa mundial de bowling se celebrará por sexta vez en México, lo que es un record, y por tercera vez en Hermosillo. Después de tantos años, ¿qué tan popular sigue siendo este deporte en tu país?

Mucho, la industria está creciendo, México es el segundo mercado más grande para el Bowling en toda América, aunque por un lado es muy emocionante ver que cada año ponemos más centros de entretenimiento  y el mercado crece a ritmos muy importantes, pero por el otro lado es necesario trabajar más en la generación de deportistas por que se han perdido muchos jugadores y es necesario trabajar más en eso, nosotros en QubicaAMF estamos comprometidos con el crecimiento del deporte y hemos ya organizado eventos que promueven la generación de oportunidades para los jóvenes.

Yes indeed, the industry is growing , Mexico is the second largest bowling market in the continent , on one end it is very exciting to see that each year we install more entertainment centers with an steady growth. But on the other hand, it is perceived that we need to work more on the development of the sport of Bowling and create more bowlers, we at QubicaAMF are committed to the growth of the sport and in Mexico we have given proofs via the creation of tournaments for youth players.

9) You will welcome a global audience in November, what places can you recommend the participants visit in Hermosillo?

9. En noviembre, tendrán personas de todas las partes del mundo. ¿Qué lugares recomendarías a los participantes para que visiten en Hermosillo o sus alrededores

Bueno, aunque no soy 100% de esta región sé que van a disfrutar mucho. Muy cerca esta Bahía de Kino y Puerto Peñasco que son resorts muy afamados, estoy seguro que la organización tendrá algunas sorpresas preparadas para los visitantes y se podrán ofrecer algunos paseos turísticos.

Well, i am not 100% from this region, but I am sure visitors are going to enjoy, Bahia Kino and Puerto Peñasco resorts are very famous and close by, I am sure the organization will provide with some surprises for visitors and may be able to offer some tours.

10) And the food, Mexico is World famous for the food, what are the must try dishes?

10. ¡Y la comida! México es famoso mundialmente por su comida. ¿Qué platos no deben dejar de probar?

Definitivamente la carne de Sonora es súper famosa, y por ahí existen algunos platos típicos como tacos de asada, chilorio y algunos platillos de marisco también, para el visitante extranjero le va a parecer muy económico y podrán comer muy bien.

Definite Sonora meat is a most, it is very well recognized, you may also be able to get some local dishes like Asada Tacos, Chilorio and seafood, to visitors they will find prices very economical so they will be able to eat well.

11) The Bowling World Cup is a massive event and there will be a lot of work still to do before November. How will you prepare for such a big tournament?

11. La Copa Mundial de Bowling es un evento muy importante y habrá muchos preparativos antes de noviembre. ¿Cómo te prepares para tan importante torneo?

Tenemos a los mejores anfitriones, Daniel y Fernando Gutierrez saben cómo satisfacer a sus invitados, hay una gran coordinación y tienen un gran equipo de trabajo que sabe perfectamente que hacer, nosotros solo somos un apoyo a una organización muy bien establecida.

We have the best host, Daniel and Fernando know how to please guests, there is great coordination, they have a fantastic team work which knows exactly what to do, we are only the back up of a very well stablished organization.

12) Do you still bowl a little Luis and when watching the event in 2017 will it bring back those memories from your own bowling past?

12. ¿Toavía juegas bowling, Luis, y cuando veas el torneo en 2017, piensas que te traerá recuerdos de tu pasado como jugador de bowling?

Juego poco, prácticamente he participado en un solo torneo en Costa Rica donde QubicaAMF es patrocinador y que naturalmente el estar ahí,  nos obliga a jugar, he tenido buen desempeño, aunque la prioridad en este momento es regresar el boliche lo mucho que me ha dado, no podré evitar sentir nostalgia pero estoy seguro que las nuevas generaciones tienen mucho talento y podrán representar a México dignamente.

No, I bowl very little, I had taken part only at the La Raza Tournament in Costa Rica where QubicaAMF is co-sponsor, me being there made me bowl and I have done it not too bad, however in this moment my priority is to give back to bowling some of the much it has given me, i will feel nostalgic in Hermosillo but I know that the new bowler generations will represent Mexico with dignity.

13) Finally, You have bowled and worked in the sport and industry over many years. Why do you think bowling is such a great sport and activity for everyone?

13. Y por último, tú has jugado y has trabajado en la industria por muchos años. ¿Por qué piensas que el bowling es un gran deporte y una gran actividad para todos?

El boliche es una actividad deportiva de alto rendimiento, es un deporte de precisión, repetición, concentración y muy demandante por la gran cantidad de horas que llevan las competencias, pero para la gente que le gusta el aspecto recreativo, no hay mejor actividad que pueda reunir a toda la familia, hombres, mujeres, niños o adultos mayores, todos pueden  disfrutar del juego en el mismo lugar, divirtiéndose y celebrando, para esto QubicaAMF diseña productos que satisfacen a todos los segmentos del mercado.

Bowling is a top sport activity, it is a precision, repetition, concentration and very demanding due to the long hours a competition tournament holds, but there is people that goes to bowling centers just to socialize and there is no better activity than bowling, it get together  families, men, women, kids  or grownups, all can enjoy the game at same time, having fun and cheering, this is one of the market targets, QubicaAMF manufactures its products and comply with the demands of different demographics and group segments.
